Meaning of Dreams about Anchor
Anchor

meaning: You may be looking for greater security
as an anchor represents a stabilising force. It may
also symbolise an influence in your life that brings
greater steadfastness and strength. For a career person
it can show a desire to be the 'anchor man' (or woman).
Alternatively, the anchor may represent something negative
that is holding you back and restraining your freedom.
For example, you may feel shackled to a relationship
that isn't working or feel tied to an emotional problem.
A Freudian psychologist may interpret the dream as being
chained to your dependency on your mother. (The sea
can symbolise the mother.)

meaning: An old superstition states that
if a girl dreams of an anchor one of her children will
choose a life as a sailor. It is also favourable for
a sailor to dream of an anchor. For the rest of us,
it means a change of residence or foreign travel. Generally
it is considered a good omen but if the anchor is in
the water or partly hidden in any way then expect disappointment.

Meaning: As a practising medium I believe that
the spirit world can contact us through dreams and that
angels are the higher spirit beings that help us to
progress spiritually. Since earliest times, angels have
been known as messengers from God. In a psychological
sense, this may be a message from parts of yourself
which could lead to greater fulfilment and happiness.
Its wings suggest flight and transcendence. If the angel
is sinister, recognise it as something in your life
that may cause trouble. Pay attention to these things
and give them expression in your life. If you dream
of the angel of death, it may not necessarily be an
omen of death. It may symbolise your anxiety looking
for a way to express itself.

Meaning: Considered a fortunate dream symbol,
to dream of angels predicts good fortune in love, partnerships
and friendships. Several angels mean you will receive
an inheritance and if an angel enters your home, you
will be wealthy.

Meaning: The Anima is the feminine principle
in the male psyche. It is often symbolised by a beautiful
young woman. She may leave the dreamer determined that
he must embark on a heroic quest to meet her again.
The dreamer may mistakenly look for the 'girl of his
dreams' in the outside world but in reality the dream
points to the motivation to discover the feminine part
of himself. The integration of both the masculine and
feminine sides of our nature leads to psychological
health and wholeness. Similarly, the Animus is the masculine
principle in the female psyche. A woman may dream of
it in the guise of a beautiful young man or a hero figure.
The anima (the feminine principle in a man) can also
take a negative role. Instead of providing spiritual
inspiration and a more balanced view of life, it can
appear in dreams as moody, irritable and oversensitive.
If the 'woman of your dreams' is like this then this
may signal that these destructive characteristics are
dominating your personality.
Similarly, the animus (the masculine principle in a
woman) can also be a destructive force. According to
Jung a negative animus causes a woman to be opinionated,
argumentative, rigid, controlling and excessively critical
of herself and others. Jung believed that everyone should
strive to find a proper balance between the positive
qualities associated with both the anima and animus
and integrate these into the personality.

a reconciliation of family disagreements.

Meaning: Dreams can give us the opportunity to
express feelings and emotions that we are unable to
express in normal life. There may be some aggression
within yourself that you have not acknowledged fully.
The dream may also be suggesting that you be more assertive
and stop taking such a passive attitude to circumstances.
You may feel undervalued, rejected or jealous and harbour
hostile wishes towards someone close to you. If someone
else was angry with you, they might represent a characteristic
of yourself that you dislike. Are you being angry with
yourself? Do you feel guilty about an issue? The psychologist
Alfred Adler believed that aggressive drives motivate
most people but can be sublimated and directed into
creative channels.

Meaning: According to some timeworn sources,
anger in a dream denotes that some unlawful trial awaits
you. It foretells disappointment in love and attacks
upon your character. However, if you are angry with
a stranger then some unexpected good news is on its
way. An invitation is likely.
