DREAM ANALYSIS
Your Dreams Analysed
On these pages you will read in-depth interpretations of dreams sent to me by readers of my newspaper columns. My method of working is to first decode the individual meanings of their dream symbols. I then piece these together into a coherent analysis and build a picture of what the dream is telling us.
You will read here letters to my columns from all sorts of age groups and sometimes be faced with a complex and hard to understand dream that - at first sight - has no hidden meaning. The dream may initially seem to be complete nonsense so may require a systematic and step by step analysis before you get to the bottom of what it means. Initially the dream needs to be taken apart and the individual symbols decoded. Then you can piece it together systematically to get an overall picture of what the dream is all about.
By seeing how I have analysed the dream you can follow similar methods to interpret the meaning of your own dreams.

IDENTIFY THE SYMBOLS
After identifying the main symbols my next step is to look at the individual symbols and see how they correspond to the dreamer’s own inner experiences. In most cases the symbols in dreams represent aspects of ourselves so can be interpreted as parts of the dreamers own personality or a figurative representation of their emotions.
NEWSPER DREAM ANALYSIS
It is interesting to note that I wrote for many magazines and newspapers over the years and often the writers came from very specific groups. For example I wrote for a newspaper with readers who were generally over 50. Some of the older readers in this group had experienced severe illness and some had even had near-death-experiences and been resuscitated from the operating table. It is interesting how many of there readers had death AND an afterlife feature in their dreams – in this instance not just as symbols but maybe a real and direct contact with the hereafter.
ANALYSING YOUR DREAMS
When analysing your own dreams you will need to take into account your own individual circumstances. First loom up the symbols in our dream dictionary then you can work with the individual components to build a picture of what the dream represents about you, your feelings and your way through life.
